“I knew when I was purchasing this refrigerator that I was going to have to adjust to a less accessible freezer than I was used to. I preferred the GE profile bottom freezer (easier to find things) but I didn’t like the door handles on the GE. So I went for appearance. It’s a beautiful looking appliance. It is the same cubic feet as my previous bottom freezer, non-counter depth refrigerator, but BOY it sure doesn’t feel like it. I keep wanting to reach further back and it sure doesn’t seem to hold the same. But I wanted a counter depth refrigerator so it’s just something I will have to get used to. At first I was very unhappy because the slide out shelf in the freezer was almost impossible to slide back. Then I discovered, just close the entire freezer door and it slides back beautifully. Thank goodness!
The only thing concerning me that I wasn’t prepared for is the two little tabs on the crisper drawers. I feel it’s a matter of time before one or both of them are going to break off. Every time I close the drawer (unless i am very careful) the drawer catches on the tab. Jenn Air should consider a change in that design. Otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase.
Get it with the architectural handles. The fatter ones are nice but with french doors three of them is a little too much.”

“I like the look of commercial appliances but didn’t want to spend a lot, so I was lucky enough to find this gorgeous Jenn-Air fridge at a fraction of the cost of similar models. The stainless steel surface and elegant towel bar handles with “diamond-etched grip” sold me on the appliance.

I noticed that this fridge is very sensitive to temperature changes – opening it too often will cause a temp. increase and the sensor will beep for some time until the correct temp. is regained (happened recently during a party, and the beeping was quite annoying). Another temperature issue: some liquids froze if kept in the very back of the fridge at 38/39F. Yes, the freezer is small and it’s not easy to retrieve items located at the bottom of the drawer (that’s why we’re still getting use out of our old fridge now sitting in the garage). Also, we rarely, if ever, use the internal water dispenser as it’s just not convenient to use: it’s a two-handed process, and what comes out is barely a trickle.

I love the wide storage drawer with divider that can be moved or removed. I haven’t had any issues with the crisper drawers – they open and close with ease. Wine hold bin is a nice touch. Not at all noisy. Have had this fridge for a year now, and I’m quite happy with my purchase.”

“What a great fridge! I had never owned a side-by-side – everyone warned me about how small the interior would be compared to the older freezer-on-top models – and I have to disagree! This fridge has more room on the refrigerator side than my old one! The shelves are wide and deep, the drawers are very deep as well. The door itself has incredible storage in it – including a beverage compartment that actually stays a few degrees colder than the rest of the fridge, so your drinks are icy cold. I LOVE the fact that you can adjust the height of the shelves with a simple crank – you never have to remove the shelves or take your food out. The freezer side of this unit is quite tight. I do have to use a chest freezer in the garage to store more items, but I do tend to stock pile! The door of the freezer has these great flip-out style wire compartments – the perfect size for a half gallon of ice cream if you buy the rectangular boxes. We eat a LOT of ice cream, mostly a brand with more upright, rounded containers, and I can only store about 5-6 of them in this freezer at once. The ice maker & water dispenser take up the majority of space on the freezer side, so if you really need freezer space & don’t have another chest unit, this may not be a good choice for you. On the exterior door of the unit is the water & ice dispenser. I love this feature, I can’t tell you how much more water my family drinks now that it is cold & filtered at the touch of a button. You can choose crushed or cubed ice, there is always more than enough even when I have to fill an ice bucket. This unit is counter-depth which gives you the built-in look, and the sleek, tubular handles are absolutely stunning. I have never heard this unit make any noise while it’s running, but every now & then you can hear the ice inside as it’s being made. I’m sure this is normal for any fridge with a water/ice dispenser. I would buy this fridge again!”
