This is yet another product that i am reviewing from school. I have been using it in my food lessons for around 2 years now and it is still going strong. I have cooked a variety of dishes and have always managed to fit them into it, along with many other peoples. The noise is very quiet compared to the older fridges and it is well designed. The door has a good quality seal and it is as if it is only a couple of months old. From the amount of use it has, opened and closed around 50 times a day i would guess, it is of great quality. It is a large fridge (The details are listed below) and would be useful for large families. I do not know of anyone in the school who has had problems with this fridge in the years it has been in the food tech room so it must be among the best refrigerator models made.

Summary
The size of it and the fact it is quiet will make it an ideal family fridge. The price may put people off but if you shop around, you may be able to find it cheaper. From my experience over the last couple years it is reliable and of good quality. I would reccomend it, if you can afford to pay the price.(Take into consideration you might have to pay for a freezer as well)

“When I first encountered this fridge, I was puzzled by the absence of the usual storage compartments on the inside of the door, those that housed milk and juice cartons in my old fridge. Without the door compartments to get in the way, the shelves reach further forward than would otherwise be possible. It was when I realised the shelves were actually drawers that I immediately knew this Bosch beauty was for me.
I should point out that this is a larder fridge and therefore doesn’t have the small freezer compartment. Having recently acquired a freezer that lives in my garage, the Bosch fridge replaces my old one, which did have a freezer compartment, but had much less fridge space and needed defrosting with frustrating regularity.
The door is hinged on the right, but this can be changed over if necessary. The inside is well lit, and this, together with the German design, lends the interior a clean, modern, clinical look, which I find very pleasing. Each of the four drawers is made from solid clear plastic and slides smoothly out, even when fully loaded, allowing easy access to items at the back. No longer do I have to unearth the contents of the fridge to find that tiny piece of ginger lurking somewhere behind the week’s shopping!
Large bottles are stored upright on the left side of the bottom drawer and next to this is a good sized home for vegetables. There are a couple of bottle holders to prevent smaller bottles falling over when sliding the drawer, but I have removed these for the time being. Hovering above the vegetable compartment is a moveable tray, which is where I store packets of herbs. There are two slightly puzzling compartments in a recess of the door that would also suit such small items. The next drawer up is shallow on the left to accommodate the tall bottles below and deeper on the right, where I store taller jars and fresh items like fish, since this drawer is the coldest zone. A temperature slide at the back allows ventilation to this drawer to be controlled, making it a little warmer or colder, but I haven’t yet found the need to use it. The top two shelves come with removable bottle holders that can double up as compartment dividers. These allow bottles of wine etc. to be laid down without rolling around. All drawers are removable for cleaning.
Temperature can easily be changed using a button on the front ( , , , , and degrees are the options), along with a “super” cooling button, which chills the fridge as far as possible for about 8 hours. I haven’t yet had a reason to use this, but its suggested use is before loading the fridge with large quantities of fresh food or for quickly chilling drinks.
This fridge is a couple of inches wider than my old one, but I think the deeper shelves made possible by having no protruding door compartments make the greatest difference to its capacity. Unlike my old fridge, there is still ample room after a big shop and with Christmas coming up, that will make all the difference. By far the major selling point for me is the ease of access that the sliding drawers provide. I had expected my decision to be governed by price, but although there are many cheaper, more standard models out there, this one is hugely rewarding for the extra money. ”

“This is one of my better buys in fridges and I have had no complaints with it. I like the easy access drawer system which makes it easy to store food and to find anything you want. Also when you have to clean it out the drawers are easily removed. There is an external led-temperature display which is easy to see at a glance.Other features are there is a humidity control, interior light, supercontrol function and auto defrost. It has 4 anti-spill safety glass shelves that is very handy for storage of food. With a clip on wine rack for up to 3 bottles.
This fridge is approved by the Energy Savings Trust. The annual electrical consumption is 117KWh and the annual running cost which is based on 7p/kWh which is eight pounds approximately.
The fridge is a larder style which has no freezer but I do not find that as a problem as I have freezers. Also it fits under the counter tops in my kitchen. The cost was in the region of £250-£300 but it was well worth spending a little extra.
The dimensions of the fridge is Height 850xWidth 600xDepth610 which actually includes the handle.. The other thing it has the door is reversible which can be useful this can be very useful has it is a very versitle Larder fridge and would fit into most kitchens.
Also I like buying Bosch Products as if you need a spare part is easily obtainable.”

“We have now owned our BOSCH Refrigerator for almost 1 1/2 years. We have had no problems with it to this point. Any consumer should be aware that this is a counter depth refrigerator and it’s going to be smaller than what most consumers think. I agree with other reviewers on interior space. It is small, on BOTH sides. You have to know that going in. We thought it would be bigger until we actually started to use it on a daily basis. It is, after all, counter depth. We also have a refrigerator in the garage and that saves us. We are a family of three adults. This refrigerator was bought, in part, for appearance and significant discounting/rebating on a total BOSCH kitchen package (4 appliances).
Operation: ZERO problems so far. COOL/FREEZE, perfect. Water dispensing, perfect. And in our case, NO residual dripping or significant splashing. CUBES, 95% hit their target. I agree with others, 5% don’t hit their mark as dispensed and will hit the floor no matter how careful you are. We have not yet run out of ice cubes during average use.
Appearance/Style: 100%. Constant compliments on its appearance. Very Sleek. Very European. We have had no problems with scratches so far. We clean the exterior with Stainless Steel cleaner and it always looks brand new. We have no young children in our household.
Interior: You must be very well organizing at filling the shelves. Not the easiest to navigate this counter depth refrigerator.
Warranty and Price: We have an extended warranty from our retailer for 5 years and it was very reasonably priced. Interestingly however, this retailer’s service department completes all Warranty work on ALL appliances EXCEPT BOSCH. BOSCH brings in their own repair staff. However, if BOSCH cannot get to the consumers home within 5 days, OUR LOCAL RETAILER has an agreement that they can come in and do necessary repairs. Retailer must be trying to protect his reputation. We bought a complete BOSCH kitchen set up(Fridge, Dishwasher, Micro, & Stove) and we ended up paying $1,800.00 for this refrigerator. We have not had to change out the water filter to this point. No warranty work has been conducted to date, therefore unable to comment.
All in all, we are still pleased with our choice.”

“Bought our Bosch Evolution fridge from Sears about 3 months ago when we moved into our new house. Due to the kitchen layout, we wanted a counter depth unit. We love this thing. Now, be advised this really is a “euro” style appliance, and it most definately IS smaller than a standard US fridge, and probably would be the best idea for a large family. For our family of 4, it’s just fine.
I CANNOT understand the postings about the icemaker. We put ice in EVERYTHING, and have not had A N Y problems with
ice production. I think the problem is the way this icemaker works–it literally has a small ice cube tray inside it, and it makes about 12 very small cubes-it dumps these cubes into the bin about once every 3-4 hours or so. I think the problem everyone is having is that these people have not let the icemaker build up a “supply” before they started using it. After reading the reviews, we waited for the bin to fill with ice, and then started using the ice dispenser in the door–and have had ZERO issues with ice supply running low and/or out.
The only negative we’ve had is that this beautiful unit scratches very, very easily–so if you get one, do not put any magnets, etc on the doors–it WILL leave a mark. Ours got scratched on initial delivery, and we had to have Sears replace it–I think the delivery guys used reasonable care, but a bungee cord got underneath the drape they had over it, and my brand new fridge arrived scratched all to pieces. We do love the supercool function and the temp display on the front panel. We also like the dispenser for water and ice–makes a nice chime when you change a selection. Also, there is a neat little door open chime if you don’t close the door all the way.
In short, we just love our Bosch fridge.”
