“This fridge is nice and large. I bought it to replace a side by side which I hated, the shelves were too narrow to hold any large items. I LOVE the french door design and adjustable shelves, I can adjust the shelves to hold large party trays and platters, adjust up or down to hold large stock pots, no matter what I always have plenty of room. Yes, you have to open both doors to access the meat tray, but I find I usually need to open both doors anyway to get all the necessary ingredients from the fridge. Love the water dispenser on the inside, no nasty, dirty tray to clean like on my side by side. Love the idea of the freezer on the bottom, wish the freezer had more usable space(same as all other bottom freezers) I do like the pull out shelves in the fridge and the freezer. The door shelves are very large, easily hold gallon or 2 liter containers. The refrigerator is large, make sure you measure well. Overall, I have been very satisfied. My father came to visit and liked it so well, he bought one himself 4 months later when his fridge died.”
“We purchased this with some apprehension about interior water and ice access. Previously always had side-by-sides with exterior access. Without a doubt we have come to appreciate this new approach and the newer generation filtration system is everything it’s hyped to be.
Appearance is great, filter change out was easy, and storage is good in both upper & lower compartments. Installation was a breeze. Manuals were accurate and complete. We haven’t found any weak points yet, no unexpected noises, and no leaks.
We don’t care for the wide, single meat storage bin as it requires both doors to be opened for access. The compartment rails in the door storage bins are rounded, reducing the amount of possible items stored in the doors.

“I searched and searched when we needed a new refrigerator. Our old one was an Amana top freezer that was 18 years old, but was dying slowly, started not keeping ice frozen then then finally quit. Decided because of it’s age to replace it. We replaced it with this Amana French Door Stainless Steel unit. We love, it makes a little ice maker noise but that’s it. Bought it in August 2008 and so far it’s great.
I kept searching for a refrigerator that was made in the USA. Finally called Iowa to make sure they were manufactured here. Found out that they were the first to design and manufacture the bottom freezer refrigerators.”

“I have had several of these Amana with the freezer on the bottom. In our current house came with a side by side fridge. We had to leave our previous model at the old house. After 1 week with a side by side my husband & I looked at each other & said “Do you miss the Freezer on the bottom as much as I do?” We bought the same exact one again, because the design is so practical. I estimate that 90% of the times you access the fridge it is to get something from the fridge compartment. Only about 10% of the time you access the freezer compartment. Since I have a problem with my lower back it hurts to bend over. With the fridge on top, 90% of the time I don’t have to. It just make more sense! Even if I did not have a back issue, I would prefer this design.
I also like how well the interior is designed. The racks on the door are modular & can be moved & repositioned easily, or taken out for cleaning. The shelves are also modular & attach at the back. Each shelf is only 1/2 the width, which means you have a lot more flexibility of arranging things to suit the items you have at the moment. The egg holder is the same as the ice tray. This is smart design!
The freezer has a pull out drawer, with a shelf above it. Everything is easy to get to. Bags of veggies etc in the drawer, boxes of ice cream & left overs on the shelf.

“Just bought this refrigerator, and we LOVE it.
It is quiet, keeps milk and pop colder in the enclosed door within the door. Crushed ice is crushed. Cold water is cold. It even has a little nite lite if you would like to get a drink in the middle of the night. I bought this refrigerator because I had been drinking water from plastic bottles that I had refilled and washed in my dishwasher, when I read a lot of articles about the dangers of trying to clean bottles in a dishwasher, which cannot be done properly due to the small openings in the bottles. Also read about the chemicals that these bottles can omit when frozen with water in them. Sooo, I decided to buy a refrigerator that I could get water from, that was filtered. This Amana has a filter that the water goes through and the water tastes great. We also make coffee from the filtered water and what a difference!
The filters only have to be replaced every 6-12 months, depending on your usage.
This is without a doubt the very best refrigerator.”
